Obviously the biggest story today is the launch of Pitchfork TV . Had a look at the website this morning and it's really good. It offers a lot of cool stuff, like special performances, full concerts and tons of music videos. Kudos to Pitchfork, a site I am not terribly fond of, for creating the channel. It's a great idea and I have no doubt will appeal to a lot of people.
There is some precedence in the idea with VIRV TV but that site hasn't yet taken off, even though I think it's pretty good and highlights some really cool artists. The problem with VIRV is that the viewer can't choose what to watch and when to watch it, a major selling point of Pitchfork TV. Still worth a look though.
Pitchfork's name is probably enough to ensure their site will be a success alongside the high quality of the content. Why every label doesn't have such a site documenting their own artists is beyond me. Maybe that'll change in the future. In the meantime head over to Pitchfork TV and check it out.
