The excellent Rocky Votolato is playing Upstairs at Whelans tonight and is well worth going to see. He's a real talent and his last two albums have been absolutely fantastic, with last year's The Brag And Cuss having a more expansive band sound than 2006's more stipped down Makers. He's an Italian-American singer-songwriter and his style would probably be best termed as alt-country, folk. Tickets are only €15 so if you're free I would recommend going along.
